Do the needles hurt?
You may feel a pin prick as the needle is inserted into the skin. Most patients think this feels similar to getting a mosquito bite. Surprising to many is how relaxed they feel during treatment, some patients even fall asleep!
What can acupuncture treat?
While I specialize in the treatment of pain, I regularly help patients with many health problems such as menopausal symptoms, headaches and migraines, PMS symptoms and insomnia.
Is acupuncture safe?
Yes, acupuncture is without side effects and the treatment will not interfere with any medications or other therapies that you are currently using. The needles used are sterile and disposable. They are only used once and then discarded.
Does insurance cover acupuncture?
I am an in-network provider for HealthPartners, CIGNA and BlueCross of Minnesota insurance plans. While these health insurance plans may offer acupuncture treatment as a covered therapy, please check with Member Services for the extent of your coverage due to variations in member contracts.

In most cases, I can bill Worker's Comp and Auto; please check with your case manager as you may need prior authorization.
What are the charges for acupuncture?
If you are using your insurance benefits, your copay is due at time of treatment and is payable by check or cash. If you are paying out of pocket, I charge $70 for an acupuncture session payable by check or cash.
